French Toast Casserole

This breakfast recipe is super easy to make and can even be prepared the night before, so all you have to do in the morning is pop it into the oven! It is the perfect recipe for a large group of people who are eager for a quick breakfast.


French Toast Casserole Directions

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and butter a 13×9 inch baking pan.

In a small saucepan melt the butter, and then stir in the brown sugar until mixture is smooth. Poor mixture into the 13×9 pan and spread evenly.

Add bread cubes to the pan spreading them evenly over top of the butter and sugar mixture.

Whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a bowl. Poor the mixture over the bread cubes, insuring all the bread is saturated.

Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, then pop into the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown.

Remove from oven, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and enjoy!

What You Need

  • 1/2 loaf French bread, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • Powdered sugar for topping

To make this recipe ahead of time, simply follow the above instructions and stop when you reach the final baking step. Instead of baking, cover the casserole in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator overnight, then bake as directed the next morning!
