Chances of the local pizza place delivering to your campsite may be low, but fear not! With a cast iron pan, a campfire, or even a grill you can make pizza right from your campsite.
Directions for your Campfire Pizza
The campfire should be hot coals or smoldering wood, but not active flame. You can also easily make this recipe using a grill!
Trim dough to roughly the size of the pan you are using. Prepare toppings by slicing veggies, meats, and cheese.
Press dough into the bottom of pan, fold over any excess dough to create crust. Brush or spray both sides of your pizza dough generously with oil .
Cook until bottom side of dough begins to crisp and brown, you can check by using metal tongs.
Remove pan from heat, flip dough, and spread the tomato sauce over the cooked side. Top with mozzarella, vegetables, and / or meat.
Cover the pan with a lid or foil and return to heat. Cook until cheese melts and veggies are softened.
Remove lid, cook until excess liquid from toppings has cooked off. Remove pan from heat and cool your pizza.
Cut your campfire pizza and enjoy!
